ASTM A975 Standard Heavily Galvanized Gabion Baskets
A gabion (from Italian gabbione meaning "big cage"; from Italian gabbia and Latin cavea meaning "cage") is a cage, cylinder, or box filled with rocks, concrete, or sometimes sand and soil for use in civil engineering, road building, and military applications.
Material: Hot-dipped Galvanized Wire, Zn-5%-Al Wire , Hot-dipped galvanized wire with PVC coated, Zn-10%-Al wire.
Weaving method: it is assembled with cover pieces; side pieces and bottom pieces are produced separately and then assembled to a basket with lacing wire or hog rings. It is common practice to choose a thicker wire to make selvedge wire, which can increase the strength of the basket.
Our Gabion Box is also used very successfully for rockfall protection and mechanically stabilized soil walls (Terramesh). All the physical and mechanical properties of Gabions and Reno mattresses meet or exceed the requirements of ASTM A975.
Gabion Box are made of high quality steel wire, which has 2 types of fabrication: double or triple twist fabric. The fabric structures are flexible and variable. Compared with welded gabion baskets, woven gabion baskets have durability for a long service life.
Gabion Box can be widely used for erosion protection, roadway and bridge protection, gravity retaining wall, slope paving and riverbank controlling.
